In the spring of 1998, Hugh and Esmeralda Williamson-Noble hosted the first Windflower Ball in memory of their son Alexander who died of SIDS in 1995. Under their direction, the annual event continued to bloom and grow, supporting SIDS research and education efforts at the local and national levels.

Since 2004, First Candle has hosted the event and it is known today as the organization’s premiere fund raising event. Now called the First Candle Charity Gala, this New York City event brings together a distinguished array of individuals, corporations and health professionals with a common goal: a future where all babies survive and thrive. We are pleased to announce that the 2009 Gala resulted in a donation of more than $100,000 to support First Candle’s important programs and services.
