In order to enhance our ability to fulfill our mission, First Candle partners with individuals and groups at the local, state and national level interested in infant health and survival.  We offer several different membership levels for your consideration: 

Individual Membership $50

This category is for those who would like to keep abreast of national efforts while at the same time providing support to First Candle/SIDS Alliance programs and services.  Membership benefits include a quarterly newsletter and other appropriate mailings, the opportunity to participate in national advocacy efforts and a listing in our membership directory.

Professional Membership $100

This category is for professionals who are working in the health and human services arena.  Membership benefits include those listed above for individual members, as well as a subscription to the First Candle/SIDS Alliance Listserv (direct receipt of information pertinent to efforts and advancements in the field) and a 5% discount on conferences, trainings, and a variety of educational, bereavement and promotional materials – including brochures, posters, public service announcements, etc.

Associate Member $250

This category is for groups, associations and organizations with similar missions or involved in the provision of one or more programs or services related to those of First Candle/SIDS Alliance.  Benefits include all those listed for Individual and Professional members, a well as the availability of First Candle/SIDS Alliance as a partner in joint ventures or collaborative efforts (determined on a case-by-case basis); the opportunity to participate in fund sharing programs; a listing on the First Candle website and resource directory as an Associate Member organization providing programs and services; the ability to receive referrals from website and information/crisis hotline requests; a 5% discount on conferences and trainings; and a 10% discount on bereavement and educational materials.

Charter Membership $500

This category is for nonprofit organizations similar in mission, goals and objectives to those of First Candle/SIDS Alliance.  Membership in this category requires that the organization be independently incorporated, with a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and a license to solicit.  Benefits include all those listed for Individual, Professional and Associate Members, as well as participation in national initiatives, including campaign materials (i.e. fundraising, advocacy, educational outreach); the ability to refer after-hours callers to a voice answered, toll-free, crisis hotline; a prominent listing in all resource materials; a 10% discount on conferences and trainings; a 15% discount on bereavement and educational materials; and table space at the national conference.
