Advocacy Alert! Join Us in Washington, DC on October 8
Support the Sudden Unexpected Infant Death Data Enhancement and Awareness Act
Because every baby deserves a first birthday
Join us for a day of legislative advocacy in Washington, DC on October 8. If you can’t join us, plan on visiting your House and Senate representative’s local office before October 8!
This crucial legislation (S314/HR669) will improve the investigations of all children who die unexpectedly under the age of four years, as well as those who succumb to stillbirth.
If passed, the bill will help give answers to families who have lost children
and save the lives of future generations.
We must gain widespread support to move forward. With that goal in mind, two events are being planned for you to attend:
Congressional Staff Breakfast Briefing: Join us on October 8 to educate congressional staff regarding the crucial merits of the bill.
Congressional Visits: Join us after the breakfast for a concerted effort by families and endorsing organizations to meet with their Senators and Congressman to encourage their support and co-sponsorship of S314/HR669.
If you are interested in participating, please call 1-800-620-SUDC or email Laura Crandall,
SUDC Program Director at firstname.lastname@example.org. Let them know First Candle sent you!
If you are not able to attend, please visit your House and Senate representative’s local office before October 8! It’s easy and you don’t have to have any experience! Your personal story will speak volumes. Just follow these step-by-step directions.
Our thanks to Laura Crandall at the CJ Foundation for SIDS SUDC Program for taking the lead on this most important effort!
