The HALO SleepSack has been on the market since 2000, with no recalls and/or safety issues. The purpose of the SleepSack wearable blanket is to replace loose bedding in a crib, which is a risk factor for SIDS. It is recommended that caretakers use the SleepSack over regular sleepwear to keep babies safe and warm. The microfleece product is currently being sold in national chains such as Babies’R’Us, Sears and The Right Start and online at JCPenney.com, Target.com and Wal-Mart.com.

There are no written safety guidelines and standards set forth by ASTM for this category of product. However, this product has been tested by RAM Consulting, a third-party, independent testing lab, for safety and breathability. The SleepSack was developed by a father who lost a child to SIDS.
