Our program is establishing a number of advisory boards and coalitions to support this project in your area. These groups are being developed, coordinated and managed by your Site Director and may include: a Site Advisory Board, Site Coalition and/or Regional Coalitions as necessary.

These groups are here to help build resources (both financial and human) to support our program over the long haul and into the future as we build toward sustainability.

The Site Advisory Board is a board whose members lend their credibility and an inherent commitment of their organization’s resources to the project. These members may include very senior individuals including your state’s governor (mayor), key legislators, the Health Commissioner, CEOs of large employers, etc.

The Site Coalition broadly represents all key stakeholders committed to infant health and survival across the state. Representatives on the Site Coalitions agree to commit staff, expertise, financial and in-kind support as necessary to support the successful implementation of this program. They also agree to help secure participation of their organizations on the Regional Coalitions. They address and support key issues such as:

• Development of the regional coalitions
• The evaluation component
• Participant eligibility
• The public education campaign
• Product allocation by region, driven based on infant mortality and birth rates by county
• Cultural competence
• Sustainability

Regional Coalitions are being established across the state to support the successful implementation of this program. As a distributing agency, your organization retains one seat on the Regional Coalition assigned to oversee activities in your community. The Regional Coalitions broadly represent all key stakeholders committed to infant health and survival across their region. The number of Regional Coalitions is being determined by the Site Coalition to meet program implementation demands and needs.

Your regional coalitions will meet throughout the course of the program. Representatives on the Regional Coalitions agree to commit staff, expertise, financial and in-kind support as necessary to support the successful implementation of this project. They manage key issues such as:

• Product allocation by distributing agency, driven based on constituents served and and training campaigns demonstrated need by distributing agencies
• The public and professional outreach
• Cultural competence
• Warehousing and regional logistics
• Sustainability
• Data collection
