> New Parents & Caregivers

Congratulations! You have a new baby or are caring for
someone’s precious bundle. Recent advances in medical
research have allowed experts to develop recommendations to
reduce the risk of SIDS and accidental infant deaths. For
the first time ever, we have proactive steps that parents
and caregivers can take to help their baby survive and
thrive.
While this is great news, it has required an
about-face in childcare practices – not an easy task. With
so many people caring for the more than 4 million babies
born in the United States each year, it is critical that
these life-saving messages reach all communities and all
populations.
Please share this information with all those
caring for babies in your community. Working together we
can continue to have a significant impact on our country’s
high rates of infant mortality . . . in the belief that
every baby should live.
Breastfeeding is best for
the overall health and well being of your baby. For more
