African American Faith-Based Bereavement Support Initiative

aa-counselThis initiative is intended to respond to the needs of bereaved families within their faith community. The PSC and National Center for Cultural Competence (NCCC) have partnered with ministers, psychologists, pastoral counselors, educators, nurses and physicians to create bereavement materials to assist faith-based communities to better support bereaved families.

The goal of the initiative is to develop an approach for the African American Christian faith community to improve support for families experiencing pregnancy or infant deaths. Members of the initiative include ministers, psychologists, pastoral counselors, educators, nurses and physicians who are working at the national and regional levels.
