There continues to be a need for training and educational materials for child care providers and child care trainers. Recent research on the effectiveness of the campaign model and curriculum were published in 2008, noting that materials were effective in improving the knowledge of child care providers and empowering them to modify their practices. The study also suggested that to further reduce SIDS deaths in child care, the use of safe sleep polices should be encouraged, regulations and monitoring by state level agencies should be promoted and education for parents and providers should be continued.
