First
Candle/SIDS Alliance
Partners With
BABIES"R"US During National Baby Safety Month This September
Delivering
Life-Saving Messages To New and Expectant Parents
As part of our ongoing effort to
educate parents and caregivers on infant health and survival, First
Candle/SIDS Alliance is partnering with Babies"R"Us in an important
educational outreach campaign.
In celebration of national Baby Safety
Month this September, Babies"R"Us stores nationwide are hosting a variety of
informational events and activities centered on a number of
important topics related to baby health and safety. Baby Safety
Month events will take place at Babies"R"Us stores every
Saturday in September from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The dates and
themes are as follows:
- September 4 – “Safe at Home With
Baby”
- September 11 – “Safety &
Grandbaby”
- September 18 – “Safe ‘n
Healthy”
- September 25 – “Safety on the Go”
During each themed Saturday, new and
expecting parents, grandparents, caregivers, or anyone with an
interest, can attend free seminars, product demonstrations,
interactive games and other fun and informative activities related
to that week’s particular theme. Attendees can also visit
information tables, product displays, and pick up a number of
educational brochures.
First Candle/SIDS Alliance member
organizations will be participating in the September 4th and
September 18th events in Babies"R"Us stores across the country. “We are pleased to
be partnering with Babies"R"Us in this important effort,” says Dr. Marian
Sokol, President of First Candle. “It provides a key opportunity to
deliver life-saving messages to our primary target audience,
pregnant moms and moms with children age 0-2.”
Our goal is to be a leading resource
for new and expecting parents on important subjects related to
pregnancy and parenting,” said Sue Montecallo, Vice President
Marketing for Babies"R"Us. “Our partnership with First Candle/SIDS
Alliance and its members during Baby Safety Month represents a
wonderful opportunity for us to inform our guests about critical
health and safety issues that could arise during the first two years
of their baby's life."
